Gao came from a notable family: his great-grandfather, Tsao Chen Sheng, served as the chief translator for the Shanghai Municipal Council in the French Concession, while his grandfather was a landowner. His father, Tsao Tao Cheng, was the general manager of the Michelin tire agency in Taiwan, and his mother, Chen Hsi Cheng, was a Malaysian Chinese beauty pageant winner in Penang in 1970. He had two brothers, Tsao Chih Chieh and Gao Yu Chiao, the latter of whom is also involved in the entertainment industry.
On November 27, 2019, Gao participated in the Zhejiang Satellite TV reality show "Chase Me." After nearly 17 hours of filming, he slowed down during the "You Chase, I Escape" segment, sat down on a flower bed, and collapsed, suffering a cardiac arrest. Despite nearly three hours of emergency treatment at Ningbo Medical Center Li Huili Hospital, he was pronounced dead at the age of 35.

In 2019 Li Qin co-starred in the aviation disaster film “The Captain” as a flight attendant, and won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Gold Crane Awards held by the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Li Qin has gone on to work on various dramas since among which her recent aired “The Song of Glory” along side Qin Hao.
