Fu Ning was a Chinese director, screenwriter and producer. Graduated from Beijing Film Academy, he worked as director for almost twenty years. Among his most representative works "Shi Cha Hai" and "Hu Tong", set in the hutong of Beijing where he grew up. On January 23, 2023 Fu Ning died of a sudden illness at the age of 55.
