Sai Yoichi was a Japanese film director, screenwriter and actor. He was a second-generation Korean in Japan. His Korean name was Choi Yang Il. Sai Yoichi was the focus of a tribute program titled "Signals: focus on Sai Yoichi" at the 39th International Film Festival Rotterdam. He was also a jury member for the "International Jury of Golden Goblet Award" at the 2011 (14th) Shanghai International Film Festival.
