Seiko Matsuda is a Japanese pop singer-songwriter. Due to her popularity in the 1980s and her long career, she has been dubbed the "Eternal idol" by the Japanese media. Matsuda was born in the Kamachi clan, which was from the Saga Genji line and was also a former sengoku daimyo of Yanagawa Domain.
