Hong Ri Na was born in 1968 and made her debut in the youth drama "Blue Classroom" in 1987. In 1988 she was in a traffic accident, but returned to acting within a year in the KBS drama "Guest in Autumn". In 1997 while working on the MBC drama "Mountain" she had a major accident when filming a scene of a suicide and one of her ropes was cut causing her to fall roughly 30 meters. This resulted in severe bruising, a broken ankle, and serious spinal injury. During her healing process, she was able to claim 1 billion Won in damages from MBC. In 2006, she married Bae Jung Won, a businessman from Silicon Valley, USA.
