Lee Chaerin is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper, dancer, model and actress born in Seoul, South Korea. She spent much of her early life in Japan and France. She trained at JYP Entertainment before joining YG Entertainment and became a member of the girl group 2NE1 in 2007. The last time all four members performed together as a group was at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), After a period of group hiatus, Minzy announced her departure from the group in April 2016, and the other three members officially disbanded that November 2016. Their final single, "Goodbye", was recorded as a trio and was released on January 21, 2017 as a farewell to their fans. She left YG Entertainment in December 2019. On July 10, 2021, she signed a domestic management contract with Konnect Entertainment in order to manage her activities in Korea. On September 13, 2021 she became the first K-pop female musician to attend the fashion exhibition Met Gala in New York City.
